1,1,1-Trichloroethane is naturally found liquid in the environment.  It is used as a additive in cutting fluids, reagent in chemical research, aerosol propellant, used in electronics industry, used to degrease metals, electronic parts, silicon chips and plastics. It is also used to dissolve paints, glues, inks, adhesives and other coatings.
