Atropine is used to treat bradycardia (slow heart rate), as a pre-anesthetic to reduce saliva and respiratory secretions, and to dilate pupils during eye examinations. It is also used as an antidote for certain types of poisoning, such as organophosphate or nerve agent exposure.
